Make Firefox even faster!

Posted on Monday, August 23rd, 2004 by Me

Thanks to TechGuy over at bargainshare for this info on how to make FireFox load pages faster… I tried it and it works great! 😀

From another site…seems to work!!

QUOTE
1. Type “about:config” in the adress field.
2. Set the value of network.http.pipelining to “true”.
3. Set the value of network.http.pipelining.maxrequests to “100”.
4. Set the value of network.http.proxy.pipelining to “true”
5. Set the value of nglayout.initialpaint.delay to “0”

Now watch as the loading times that already beat IE’s go into overkill mode.

The last option seems to be gone on later versions of FF.

For number 5 on that list, if it’s not in your version of FireFox, just do this:

Right click -> New -> Integer

then type in nglayout.initialpaint.delay and set it to 0.

Thanks to garsh from bargainshare for that info! 🙂
