Gentoo Linux

Posted on Tuesday, August 24th, 2004Saturday, March 17th, 2007 by Me

I’m thinking about installing Gentoo Linux. I’ve tried SuSE, Knoppix, JAMD, Mandrake, and Red Hat… but I want something completely custom. From what I’ve read, Gentoo takes the longest to install if you want to compile everything yourself (which is the best way to go for what I want)… but it’s definitely worth the time.

Well, we’ll see… I printed out the installation manual and I’ll be reading through that to see what CD’s I’ll need to download so I can install it. I’ve got a bunch of stuff to do before I get around to installing it (errands… bah!).
