I’m gonna try to make this a quick blog.
So… yesterday’s challenge was all about finding niches. Ed showed several places to get niche ideas – eBay pulse, Google Groups, Technorati, etc. I’m not gonna repeat what was said in the videos, just join the challenge and watch them for yourself. 😉
The task for yesterday was to find seven niches. Any seven will do. Yesterday I found about 5 (I had been writing down a lot of things throughout the week and picking off of my list – my list has way more than 5 things on it) that I’d want to research more. And since today’s TDC podcast & videos aren’t up yet, I decided to go look into more niches.
Yesterday, I was more looking for things that I would be interested in. But that’s really limiting myself to just the few things I like – tech, anime, games, TV shows, badminton, woodworking, and whatnot (none of which ended up on my list anyway). I really don’t want to have such tunnel vision, so I’m trying to get myself out of this tunnel, so to speak.
magazines.com has been a really great resource for finding niches. I tried eBay pulse, Google, Groups, Technorati, and eHow yesterday, but really wasn’t feeling it, ya know? So, since Ed said ANY 7 niches. That’s what I’m doing… exploring anything I wouldn’t normally look at and actually finding stuff that I think a lot more people (than just me) would probably be interested in.
I’m really looking forward to the next step to see which ones of these ideas might actually be worth pursuing for the rest of the challenge. And if none of them work out, then I’ll just have to pick out some more. 🙂
