As you might know, I’ve been following along with the Thirty Day Challenge. I found this umbrella phrase that had only around 700 competing sites and 110 visitors daily for the #1 ranked site, according to the GTrends tool.
So, I started gathering my affiliate links and creating content. Yesterday I put up a Weebly page (more on that later), submitted my site to social bookmarking sites using socialmarker.com and then posted the link to my team (a team which seems to have gone AWOL since September 6th 🙁 – might be time to get into a new team).
After posting to my team, I checked to see if I was ranking yet. Then all of a sudden, I see 63,400 competing pages! That’s for my phrase in quotes. Whoa! What’s going on here? Just the day before, it was showing the 700 figure. Now there’s over 63,000? How in the world does that happen?
Then a few hours later, I checked the phrase again and it’s back to 700. Then a few hours after that it’s back to 63K. And just a few seconds ago it was down to 687 results. What in the world is going on with Google? They’re really messing with my head with all of these number fluctuations. This is just too weird.
