This post might be kind of a long one… you have been warned.
On July 31st, 2001, as a birthday gift to myself, I registered reyles.com with registerfly. I also signed up for their e-mail hosting service for $15 per year.
Later that year, I found some cheaper hosting options, so I stopped using registerfly/entryhost for my e-mail. I looked through entryhost’s support pages to find out how to cancel and it said to e-mail them. When I sent the e-mail asking to cancel, I got a response back saying they would only respond to cancellation requests made through their support ticket system. So I did that and got a message saying something along the lines of cancellations being processed within 30 days after request.
They closed my support ticket, so I figured I was good to go, so I switched my hosting to e-rice.net’s free plan (which was awesome, BTW). A year later, 2002, I was charged by registerfly for yet another year of their crappy e-mail service. WTF? I thought I cancelled. 😡 I reopened my support ticket and asked them to cancel my account ASAP (and, yes, I used CAPS in part of my request). I also sent a letter to my bank disputing the charge and they gave me my 15 bucks back. 😀
July 2003 came and went and they didn’t charge me for hosting, so I was finally free from registerfly’s hosting service. Or so I thought. Today, I checked my account online to find that I’ve been charged another 15 bucks for something by registerfly. I can only assume that it’s for their e-mail hosting because that’s the only thing on their page that’s listed at exactly $15. What the hell, man? 😡 The last time I even used registerfly was when I had to unlock my domain so I could transfer it over to namecheap.com. Well, that isn’t really true though… when I saw that they charged me again for something I didn’t authorize, I logged in over at registerfly.com to delete my CC info (and for some reason, reyles.com is still listed in my account over there even though I have full control of it over at namecheap and it expires in 2006 – I hope registerfly doesn’t charge me in 2005 when they say that my domain expires).
Well, I’m extremely pissed off with them and will never use them for anything ever. That’s the whole reason why I transferred to namecheap so that I wouldn’t have to deal with registerfly. REGISTERFLY SUCKS.
would you believe that my name is Maria Celia Reyles ?
I’m starting to think using registerfly was a HUGE mistake. I purchased a host plan, my site is down most of the time.
I purchased a additional service “exactseek”a featured service; when I went to activate the service I received an email from exactseek, stating I would not receive any service from them, registerfly never paid them for other previous sales.
Registerfly collected to registeration fee’s but never forward the payment to exactseek.
Bastards!
Yep they are cheats, they start charging your credit card with false charges. They
charged me 15 for hosting instead of 3 times of the course of the last 9 months. Do a search you will see they are crooks.
They are complete crooks, I am still trying to get them to stop billing my credit card (6 months) they keep closing the tickets and biling me monthly for 3 months of service. Ready to go to Jersey and go postal!
I just started registerfly’s vps webhosting a month ago. The only people i ever get to answer the phone seem to know nothing at all. on July 11, 2005 at 3:00pm pt the whole vps system went down, all of my websites are down and making no money, they keep telling me when I call, it will be just a few more hours. acting like people just get web hosting to put up family pictures or something. it has now been over 30 hours and all my webpages and emails are still down, they have now told me another 6 to 12 hours. I asked for the extension to have my account cancelled and the number they gave me wouldn’t answer or allow me to leave a message. The worst web hosting experience I have ever had. I will probably be moving to a new system. Sounds like they have amatures running registerfly.com
It sounds like everyone having these problems needs to turn them in. I am moving my sites to another service and if they keep charging my account I will dispute the bill and turn them in for charging fraud.
