I didn’t get to do much with the 30DC last month. But I really want to start over this month now that I pretty much know what all the steps are and what kinds of things to avoid. I don’t think I’ll be using Tumblr at all for whatever site I end up making.
Since I’m starting over, that also means researching again – the Wordtracker Gtrends tool is really going to be a big time saver. Some of the ideas that I had have been thrown out the window because of bad numbers (either too much competition, low traffic, or both). At least I didn’t waste any time developing any sites that were just going to fail in the end, so that’s good.
Today, I sat down and am starting to take a different approach which I think will be (in Ed’s words) “brilliant” – I found some excellent umbrella phrases in four different markets. I’m starting with one particular niche market now, but I’m having a hard time finding related affiliate products – it’s not the kind of thing you can find a product for on Amazon and there’s nothing on Clickbank either, so I’m going to have to do some more researching or move on to the next market on my list. I really don’t want to abandon this market though because I have a feeling it’ll pay off big if I can just find even one affiliate program for it. Or maybe even a pay-per-lead type of thing would be good too. Hmm.
I think it’s time to take a look and see what magazines are available in this niche and see if any of the ads in them will help me find what I’m looking for.
