The Attorney General came through for me again! 🙂
If you ever feel like you’re being scammed by a company – not getting what you paid for, not receiving a prize you won, or maybe them not following their stated return policies, etc… whatever the reason, don’t just go “Oh well,” and give in! If you can’t report them to the BBB, the Attorney General (of your state or the state that the company you have a complaint against is located in) is usually your best bet if you don’t want to hire a lawyer.
I’ve only contacted the Attorney General twice, but both times they’ve really helped me out when the company was otherwise unresponsive. Both times I either won or redeemed a prize and after several months (in the first case I think it was over a year), I never received what I was promised. After filling out a quick form, the companies in question both paid out within days after receiving a reply from the AG saying they’d contact the companies about my complaints.
So I just owe a huge THANK YOU to the Attorney General’s offices (both GA and CA) for helping me out. I don’t know what they do or how they get these companies to respond, but whatever it is, it works!
Don’t settle for being scammed, do something about it or else these companies might get away with scamming a lot of other people.
