I joined a site called ChaseTheChuckWagon.com a couple of weeks ago. It’s similar to eBay, but for selling video game related items. They recently launched a sister site, Vendazzle.com (formerly Vendoogle.com), and that is where you can list everything other than video games for sale. Since I was a CTCW member, I was automatically signed up for Vendazzle. If you sign up at either one of these sites, it creates an account that you can use on both, so I’m guessing your feedback on both sites would be the same.
There aren’t that many members yet, but with the help of people like me to spread the word, hopefully it becomes a bigger and better marketplace for both buyers and sellers alike.
One of the best parts about it is that there are NO fees for basic listings. There are still fees for enhancements (bold, featured, arrows, etc), but those are cheap. And final value fees are DIRT CHEAP! It’s only 3% for listings up to $100. 2% for listings between $100 and $1000, and 1% for anything over $1000.
As a small time seller, not having a listing fee is awesome for me since if my items don’t sell, I don’t have to pay anything. On eBay, I’d opt not to list something if I wasn’t sure if it’d sell since I could end up losing money just paying listing fees for unsold items. But on CTCW and Vendazzle, it really doesn’t hurt to list as much stuff that you’ve got taking up space in your house… which is what I’ll be doing as soon as I can take pictures of everything. 🙂
It’s also nice that there’s no lame PayPal hold with CTCW or Vendazzle. The last time I sold a Vista Ultimate on eBay, PayPal held my funds until the buyer left feedback since my feedback was below 100, I had less than 10 detailed seller ratings, and I was selling in a “high risk” category. Since my funds were held, I didn’t have enough available funds to pay to print a PayPal shipping label, so I had to do it via my UPS account manually. Grrr. That was pretty much the last straw for me with eBay, along with their ever increasing fees, so I ditched them after that.
Anyway, I want to thank So. Cal Mike for starting up two amazing sites and I hope the membership grows. Check them out if you haven’t already… chasethechuckwagon.com and vendazzle.com.
