I’m haven’t had much to blog about lately or just didn’t want to write anything.
Lots of gluttony during the months of November & December 2008… and also some already this year. Hopefully that’s the last of it until this November. I hate having so many leftovers because nobody ever eats them. We always say we’ll do less next year, but it never ends up happening.
I had my first success selling products as an affiliate. And I even did it all wrong! I sold some physical products in November & December last year. Made a decent chunk of change for about 2-3 days worth of work. It’s definitely a seasonal niche though, so it’s not making me money anymore. I’ll need to find an evergreen niche that’ll make money throughout the year. But I will definitely do this again for this year!
I tested out a new method with bulk listings on eBay for January (I know I said I’d be using vendazzle/chasethechuckwagon, but I don’t know if there’s much of a market for this there). My test of 5 products in one listing sold 4 of the 5. There’s a ton of stuff that I can sell in this niche. I have about 3 or 4 competitors on eBay right now, but we’re all selling different stuff. And none of them are making use of bulk listings. They just keep relisting and selling ONE item at a time. It’s a lot cheaper to do bulk listing since you only pay the listing fee for one item, even if you’re selling 1000. One guy is making a killing with auction style listings, but I prefer BINs. And I can’t exactly do what he’s doing since I know he’s got a better setup than me. I still think it’s amazing how much people are paying for this stuff!
I won’t give away the niche, but the products are things that must be manually digitally delivered. Since it’s a digital product, there’s an infinite amount available and a multitude of items that can be sold! What’s cool is the interaction with each of my customers. It’s been a lot of fun so far. They’ve all been very happy with the stuff they’ve gotten and have left INSTANT positive feedback for me.
My customers so far have been parents buying the things for their kids and it’s great to hear things from them like, “My son/daughter would be so excited right now.”
This niche is something I really genuinely love. And I hope to be able to keep on doing it for as long as I can. It’d be nice if there was a way to do instant deliveries, but the interaction has been fun! If only eBay would get their act together and display my current listing in the search results. I hate when my listing doesn’t get shown. Hopefully it’ll be up soon.
